Induction loops for security barriers or electric gates are designed to detect the change of metal content above the loop by way of electromagnetism
in short a metal object above the loop. The loop is a single core cable going round a slot at least three times and embedded in the road .
The groove in the road can be cut by a large angle grinder or better still a Sthil type saw or a floor saw. The appx depth of the slot is 100mm.

Our induction oops are digital types with a large margin for movement in the roadway and an adjustable sensitivity so that they can be set to
detect a wide range of vehicles.The loops can be set so they send a pulse n/o or n/c or will stay n/o n/c as long as a metal object is above the
loop.

Induction loops can be used as safety or for automatically opening a gate or barrier

For pedestrian safety you should use safety beam

A TYPICAL INDUCTION LOOP

Installation For a security barrier or electric gate

1/Cut slot appx 100mm deep from the control equipment around the shape you want (a box is usual)

2/ Starting from the begining of your box insert a single core cable go round the box at least three times, twist the two ends
and bring back to your control equipment and wire to the loop detector

3/ Cover the slots with bitumin or sealant
